
In early March, Stephen Curry was the first NBA player tested for COVID-19. He was not allowed in his team’s practice facility and told to self-quarantine from his family. Although his test results were negative, the threat of the virus weighed on him. Because of his personal experience, SC30 Inc. wants to use our resources to build awareness across the globe, slow the spread of COVID-19 and support communities in need.
COVID-19 vs the Flu
Many people have said COVID-19 is just another version of the flu. The reality is that COVID-19 is substantially more transmissible and is currently at least 10x more deadly than the seasonal flu.
COVID-19 Twice
While specific testing has not yet confirmed this, similar viruses have shown that if you get infected and fully recover from a virus, it is very unlikely you will get infected with the same virus again.
Returning to Normal
To return to a more normal lifestyle across the United States, experts and government officials need to see the trajectory of the curve to be steadily decreasing.
Testing for Immunity
Dr. Fauci (Director, NIAID) says that testing for antibodies is a vital piece of information we need to get. This testing will eventually be widely available and much cheaper than COVID-19 testing.
Vaccines and Seasonality
Vaccines typically takes 12-18 months to be developed, tested and proven effective. A vaccine is vital because experts believe COVID-19 will likely become seasonal due to its high transmission rate.
